always hunched over a book, or writing something in his notebook …
I met Don Muth at the Market… Proud native of Maple Ridge who has lived here since birth. He is often in the centre, always smiling and elegantly dressed. Don is an engineer and works for the extraordinary company International Submarine Engineering, which studies the underwater world of our rivers and lakes.
I met Michael Busch at Gratia Bakery & Cafe in Maple Ridge of course. He looks a bit like Indiana Jones, but that’s not the case. Michael deals with discovering archaeological mysteries just like him. One of his greatest challenges is explaining the origin of a fig leaf from Europe that was discovered in Ontario… He can talk about it for hours and it’s exciting.
I met this lucky woman at Peace Memorial Park on Indigenous Day on June 17 2023. She stood on stage with a drum and sang the traditional songs of her ancestors. Smiling and open to the world and people. Maybe someone knows his name?
